The Beauty Bias

The beauty bias, which is related to the halo effect or the "what is beautiful is good" hypothesis, is something our society participates in on a regular basis. The halo effect is when you associate positive preconceived aspects of a person when they are attractive. For example, more attractive people have been perceived as more intelligent, more friendly, and more competent than the average-looking person. According to research, people also view more attractive people as more socially skilled, more trust-worthy, and more successful. Have you ever contributed to this bias? Here is a helpful article on the halo effect!
